A Recycling Center was looking to install a new NGR S-GRAN 125 V HD re-pelletizer machine in their existing warehouse area. Proper planning of the future traffic flow patterns, storage racking arrangement, and overall warehouse layout were required in order for the new equipment to be strategically placed in the most effective position for plant operations.
The NGR equipment would require plant utility connections including compressed air, process chillwater, potable water, process exhaust, and pneumatic resin convey piping. A new roll unwind table would also be installed to allow operators to feed multiple rolls into the re-pelletizer.
JBW’s scope of services involved conducting up to two site visits for field measurements, verification, and project coordination, including point cloud scans as needed. For traffic flow and space planning, JBW developed up to three concept layouts for the recycling equipment, detailing locations for the re-pelletizer machine, roll feeder table, storage racking, box and roll scales, and forklift traffic routes. Design review meetings were coordinated to finalize the preferred equipment layout and traffic flow plans.
Additionally, JBW provided 3D modeling, clash detection, and general arrangement layout drawings for various utility systems, including compressed air, process chilled water, potable water, process aspiration/exhaust, sanitary drainage, and pneumatic resin convey piping/pump systems. The roll unwind table’s design and specification included adjustable side rail guides, 6” diameter rollers with solid shaft and PB bearings, and an infeed roller guide. Design review meetings were held to finalize the roll table design.
