JBW Project

JBW was hired to assist in the design of a piping system for a Waste Management Biosolids Processing Facility in Maine. The scope would also include a pipe stress analysis and support specification and design per ASME B31.3. The goal of the analysis and code review was to verify that the piping system falls within the ASME B31.3 allowable stress range, using Auto Pipe, and to suggest additional pipe support locations, if required. The overall analysis helped identify additional support designs needed, address specific stress conditions and ensure the structural integrity and reliability of the system under all anticipated operating scenarios.

After the initial report was completed, the client informed JBW that they needed to put a solids meter into a pipeline after our pumps. This required the ball valves to be moved up the vertical section of piping. Once installed, JBW reanalyzed the piping system and we were able to provide an updated pipe stress report stamped by a Maine PE.
