JBW was notified of a concern after the recent installation of a new RTO pertaining to one of the baghouses. The new RTO location was inside of the hazard area for Baghouse 5’s explosion vents. After conversations with the baghouse manufacturer, Aircon, and the client, JBW was asked to develop a plan to manage the explosion zones that were coming from Baghouse 5 such that they will not impinge upon the RTO location. JBW worked with CV Technologies and Aircon to size and specify flameless venting for the baghouse. A section of the existing baghouse was removed and replaced with a new ring section that included the mating flanges for the flameless vents. JBW also developed IFC drawings to communicate the new hazard mitigation plan.
