Dust Collector Installation

One of our pulp and paper product clients needed to install a dust collection system to serve the de-wiring, dump pit, and scale and transfer conveyor pit system in a newly rebuilt warehouse. Unfortunately, they lost their previous warehouse and dust collection system in a structure fire. With this loss, they needed to rebuild a system that was designed like their old system in size at 45,000 ACFM, number of pick-ups (10), and hood types/design (2).

JBW’s scope of work included both mechanical and structural engineering design to size and layout a dust collection system for the rebuilt warehouse equipment. The baghouse was designed to be located on the north side of the facility on new foundations exterior to the warehouse. The baghouse exhaust air will be returned into the facility, protection will be provided with the installation of a back blast damper and abort gate. For continued safety, the return air in the warehouse is filtered at the discharge with a HEPA filter. The entire system was designed in compliance with applicable NFPA and FM Global standards as the material is deemed to be explosive/flammable.
