JBW was retained to provide design engineering and design services for one of our wood product client’s Green End Upgrade. This project included the installation of a system of conveyors designed to take bulk raw material (logs) from the thaw ponds, through a debarker, through a waferizer, and on to the wet storage bins.
JBW began the project with a kick-off meeting with the project stakeholders. We then made multiple trips to the plant to access the area where the new systems were being installed. Sketches were made and photos/videos were taken of critical equipment and area constraints. Drawings of the existing equipment were collected from equipment manufactures and the plants.
The primer hoods and ancillary systems were specified based on product flow rate and desired wit mils of primer. All physical constraints were verified and addressed using existing point clouds, 360 photos/videos and site visits. JBW also provided construction admin including on-site support working directly with contractors.
