Piping Replacement

Project Summary

JBW Consulting Engineers, as a sub-consultant, provided a professional services proposal for a Piping Construction Administration project. The project involved replacing necessary piping to accommodate higher total acid number crude, with the piping design previously completed by a team. The proposal focused on the construction administration phase.

The team was responsible for tracking and responding to contractor RFIs during the prefabrication of pipes and supports, and performing redesigns if required due to unforeseen interferences. During the installation phase, the team committed to making site visits twice weekly to examine the pipe and supports, ensuring they met the design intent. Each site visit was to be followed by a summary report detailing any issues, resolutions, and the percent completion by circuit.

The scope of services included tracking and responding to contractor RFIs within seven days, providing redesigns if necessary, making site visits during prefabrication to address questions or review conditions, and generating progress reports during the Turn Around (TA).
