Panel Line Baghouse Replacement

Project Summary

JBW Consulting Engineers provided a professional services proposal for the Panel Line Baghouse Replacement project. This proposal was based on email, phone, and in-person correspondence, as well as a recently completed Panel Line Baghouse analysis. The project aimed to replace the existing Panel Line Baghouse System due to its low velocity, duct plugging issues, and high frequency of filter bag changes. The new design included a proposed baghouse, baghouse ID fan, and several duct and blast gate changes/additions.

The scope of services included mechanical, structural, and electrical design and engineering. JBW provided plans for dust collection, compressed air, and conveyor demolition, as well as new installation plans for the baghouse system, including approximately 30 duct changes and blast gate additions. Structural services included designing the foundation plan for the new baghouse and baghouse ID fan, duct supports, and structural platforms for backblast dampers. Electrical services involved providing controls and power demo plans, new cable plans, and electrical layout for the baghouse, with the assumption that the client would provide all electrical component selection. JBW also offered CAD services for updated layout drawings, one-lines, PLC controls, and RIO drawings.

Field support consisted of two site visits for field verification and two site visits for construction coordination. Commissioning involved up to 40 hours of site time for testing and balancing the new system. Deliverables included IFC drawings for mechanical, structural, and electrical components, as well as a commissioning and balancing report. The project was based on the assumptions that JBW would have access to the site, sufficient information would be available to perform the assessment, and the client would provide the selection of the baghouse, baghouse ID fan, and all electrical equipment.
