Baghouse Replacement
Project Summary
One of our wood product clients wanted to replace a pendant style dust collector. There were concerns about its performace with respect to bag life, and its compliance with the relevant NFPA standard. A challenge that was faced on this project is a common one for industrial facilities; keep the existing equipment in operation until the facility took a little downtime to cut over to the new equipment. This was successfully achieved.
JBW provided mechancial engineering and structural engineering for the new equipment and duct, along with foundations and steel supports. We specified/designed a baghouse, rotary airlock, backdraft damper, ID fan and waste handling system. This equipment was all compliant with NFPA 664, NFPA 68, and NFPA 69. Additionally, we performed air readings on site to verify proper operation of the system.
