●  Facility, Process, and Equipment Evaluation – JBW has team members with extensive knowledge and specialties in combustible dust hazards with the ability to analyze the hazards present in your facility.

Responsibilities

Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations
●  Adhere to the core values of Relationships, Communication, Solutions, Technical Proficiency, Quality, and Responsiveness as defined by JBW.
●  Must have an entrepreneurial attitude and be willing to tackle different tasks as they arise.
●  Provide Project Engineering duties related to industrial facilities. These duties vary by project and current workload.
●  Must be willing to work in daily collaboration with other JBW team members, and a variety of industrial clients.
●  Perform site visits safely that range from 1-5 days, sometimes requiring travel (all expenses included). Travel is expected to be less than 25% annually but can vary in the short term based on project needs.
●  Perform field verifications, identify and organize gathered field information.
●  Work in CAD software including but not limited to Revit, AutoCAD 3D, Plant 3D, and Inventor.
●  Complete drawings, calculations, equipment selection, and analysis accurately while following JBW’s quality control methods.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
●  BS Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
●  4 years of relevant experience.
●  Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other drawing software.
●  PE license is not required, but it is preferred that it is obtainable within 1 year of starting.

Desired Background and Skills

●  Technical Proficiency:
●  Experience working in industrial settings such as refineries, mines, power plants, etc.
●  Experience with designing material handling systems.
●  Experience developing drawing packages and specifications for contractors to build from.
●  Knowledge of industry standards and codes.
●  Ability to perform engineering analysis.

●  Communication Skills:
●  Excellent leadership, writing, and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
●  Ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations, reports, and proposals to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
●  Ability to manage multiple small projects simultaneously.
●  Ability to manage clients.

JBW Consulting Engineers is a consulting engineering firm with locations in Duluth/Hermantown, MN and Gillette, WY that provides design and engineering services for clients in the industrial, energy, and infrastructure sectors across North America. Our work consists of mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering, design, and analysis for industrial, energy, and infrastructure systems. Most of JBW’s projects involve Piping and Pumping Systems, Material Processing and Handling Systems, and Industrial Ventilation/Dust collection systems.

This particular opportunity is unique in that it has the potential to turn into as much as the applicant wants it to. We are looking for a candidate in the Rocky Mountain region, ideally near a decently sized airport, or in our existing Gillette, WY office. We would want this individual to be able to handle projects and clients relatively quickly and have an interest in growing with our existing clients and potentially making in-roads with new clients. Structural, mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering or design background and degree would be suitable with relevant experience.

Ideally, this candidate has spent about 4 years working as an EIT, has or is ready to take their PE and is ready to take the next step in their career. Or, this candidate could be a more senior person that has experience in the relevant industries looking for a change and some more opportunity to grow a presence for JBW in the Rocky Mountain region.
