Mining Exploration Device
Project Summary
JBW Consulting Engineers was engaged to address the challenges associated with relying on international freight for equipment repairs during the development stage of the Mining Exploration Device. To mitigate downtime and facilitate local repairs, JBW planned to work closely with another company to gain the necessary expertise in maintaining the Mining Exploration Device.
JBW sent an experienced electrical engineer to a site, for a four-day onsite training session, supplemented by two days of travel. During this workshop, the engineer collaborated with the a team to acquire an in-depth understanding of the Mining Exploration Device’s repair and maintenance requirements.
Following the training, the engineer returned to set up and test the Mining Exploration Device in collaboration with the local team. This phase involved two days of onsite work with two individuals to ensure the equipment was properly configured and operational.
JBW provided ongoing support to maintain and optimize the Mining Exploration Device, including regular maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting. Additionally, JBW engaged in research and development efforts to enhance the robustness and uptime of the equipment in the field. This included sourcing replacement parts specifically rated for local voltage and frequency, such as the generator powering the Mining Exploration Device.
This comprehensive approach aimed to minimize future downtime and enable efficient local repairs, ultimately supporting the operational efficiency and reliability of the Mining Exploration Device.
