Ethanol System Review
Project Summary
JBW Consulting Engineers conducted a professional review of a recently installed abort system on a 6” high-pressure pneumatic corn protein conveying line. The original system included multiple spark detection zones linked to an abort gate. However, it was discovered that the abort gate failed to function correctly when the line was full of product.
The client subsequently replaced the abort gate with a slide gate diverter, which was reported to work effectively under full load conditions. JBW's role was to verify the system's compliance with NFPA 61 standards by performing a site visit, assessing the installed system, and providing a certified report detailing the compliance status and any necessary corrective recommendations.
