Dust Hazard Analysis
Project Summary
JBW Consulting Engineers provided professional services for conducting a Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA) for the Building A and Building B facilities at a specified location. The project was initiated following a site visit and aimed to systematically identify and document potential deflagration, fire, or flash fire hazards associated with dust-generating or dust-handling equipment within the facilities. The analysis involved evaluating existing hazard mitigation features and recommending improvements based on best practices and the latest NFPA standards, specifically NFPA 664, 68, 69, and 652.
The findings and recommendations were categorized based on their importance to life safety and mission continuity. JBW also reviewed a previously completed DHA for the Kiln Site to ensure consistency across all facilities. The project concluded with a review of the report with stakeholders to develop a strategy for implementing the recommended hazard mitigations.
