Damper Drive Access
Project Summary
JBW Consulting Engineers provided engineering and design services for the installation of two access platforms on the 4th and 6th floors of a client facility. The project aimed to improve access to damper boxes by installing elevated platforms on the 4th floor, supported by cantilevered beams across existing structures, and platforms on the 6th floor, which were suspended from beams supporting upper floors. Each platform design was customized to account for the unique support structures in each area.
The scope of work included detailed specifications for new beams, columns, braces, and equipment, as well as the preparation of construction drawings and ongoing construction administration, such as RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, and final walkthroughs. The project followed a structured design process, including owner feedback, constructability reviews, and collaboration with contractors to ensure successful project execution.
