Dust Collection System Assessment
Project Summary
JBW provided engineering services for a major dust collection system upgrade for a wood products client. The system in place was underperforming due to additional loads added over time, yet there was a large network of duct and infrastructure in place that couldn't simply be replaced.
Our team performed flow analysis to determine exactly which duct needed to be replaced to obtain minimum convey velocities. Using 3D point clouds, we provided structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering for the replacement of the existing baghouse and fan, all while following NFPA 68 and 664 standards for combustible dust. The result was a vastly improved system for maintenance and operations, and a noticeable difference in the clenliness of the facility.
